Do it For Dolly – Asha Receives The Principal’s Award

Congratulations to the following students, who received a coveted Principal’s Award at Red Bend Catholic College’s assembly this week:

Asha Munodawafa and Immy Ousby for their commitment to the organisation and advocacy for Do it For Dolly Day, highlighting the importance of standing up for and speaking out against bullying.

This is what ASHA had to say;
Bullying isn’t just a word to me, it’s something I’ve seen, something I’ve felt, and something I’ve watched tear through people’s confidence and joy, including my own at times. I know what it’s like to feel isolated or judged, to question your worth because of someone else’s words or actions. And I know I’m not alone in that.

Through the Hey Sis Project, I’m trying to turn that pain into purpose; to create a space where young individuals feel safe, seen, and supported.

This fundraiser isn’t just about raising money, it’s about raising hope. It’s about honouring Dolly and the lives of young individuals that we lost too soon, whose stories remind us how serious this issue is, and how powerful kindness can really be. It’s about standing up, not just in protest against bullying, but in support of each other.

I often reflect on how just one kind word or one genuine conversation, or a simple smile can change someone’s day or even their life. I’ve experienced that feeling, and I want to help others experience it too.

📩I’ve launched a fundraising page, and there’s more information on the event to come soon.

I’d love for you to support, donate, or simply show up. Because sometimes, just showing up or helping out is enough and can make a real big difference.
